ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Delia Huddy(1934–2005) was a distinguished British author and children's book editor who dedicated her life to the world of children's literature. After studying English at King's College London, she enjoyed a long, influential editorial career in London, co-founding Julia MacRae Books and later serving as the Editorial Director at Random House Children's Books. Alongside her busy publishing career, she wrote over 30 titles for young people, spanning picture books to young adult novels like the best-sellingTime Piper.The Christmas Eve Tree was a manuscript Huddy was working on at the very end of her life in 2005; it was discovered years later in an editor's drawer and published posthumously in 2015, quickly becoming a celebrated seasonal classic.
